Elanna M. Fultz
Director of Nursing
Elanna M. Fultz started as our Director of Nursing October 2009. Elanna is a Registered Nurse. She has been in the field of nursing shortly after she graduated from high school in 1998 working as a Certified Nursing Assistant at a local long term care facility. Elanna is married to James Fultz and has two children RubyAnn age 9, and James Daniel age 6. She resides in Centerville, Iowa. Elanna attended Indian Hills Nursing School where she graduated in 2002 from the Licensed Practical Nursing Program. Elanna was employed at Mercy Medical Center-Centerville from November 2001 to January 2007. She worked on the medical surgical and obstetrics unit a majority of the time, but also floated to outpatient surgery, long term care, ER, and the special care unit (also known as ICU).
After graduating from the Associate Nursing Program and earning her RN, Elanna worked in pediatric home care as a primary nurse for a client in a local community. As a Primary RN in the homecare setting Elanna provided 1 on 1 care to a child with high tech cares. She also assured that all of her clients equipment and supplies were ordered, she maintained her plan of care, and worked with many interdisciplinary teams. In addition to nursing care Elanna also supervised and scheduled a staff of 4-6 nurses.
Elanna has always enjoyed patient care, but also enjoyed implementing personal plan's of care for each patient. After working in home care Elanna accepted a position as a MDS/Care Plan Coordinator at Oakwood Nursing and Rehab in Albia, Iowa. In this position Elanna assessed each resident and implemented individualized plans of care. She also supervised over nursing staff assisting the Director of Nursing.
In September Elanna accepted the position as Director of Nursing and started in October 2009. Sense becoming part of our team Elanna has assisted in utilizing our skilled services, individualizing our resident's plan of care, and revamping our restorative program implementing new programs for our residents to participate in.
